At Fahrenheit 212, we’re currently working on an exciting pro bono project to transform the organ donation landscape in the United States. In our work, we recently discovered a brilliant initiative from Second Life Toys, in Japan.

The Second Life Toys project seeks to provoke a deeper understanding of the organ transplantation process by encouraging parents and children to give away toys that are ‘loved, but no longer used’ to undergo a special transplant operation to infuse a new life to broken toys. Upon receipt of the fixed toy, the child sends a note to thank the ‘donor’, showing the donor how they helped improve their life through their act of sharing.
