CARLO PAOLO ESPIRITU
Searching for new creative endeavors, Carlo Paolo left his design job in Los Angeles, looking for a way to rekindle his passion for visual storytelling in an environment that would encourage it. After months of researching and freelancing from home, Carlo Paolo discovered the innovation, thinking, storytelling and collaboration taking place at Fahrenheit 212 and quickly followed his instincts to New York. And as serendipitous as the whole story of a guy flying into town and getting a job offer a day later may sound, it actually happened, and Carlo Paolo is very excited to be a part of the brilliant team at Fahrenheit 212.
Carlo Paolo spent the past four-and-a-half years working in the entertainment industry, designing key art, out-of-home, packaging, microsites, websites, marketing collateral and corporate identity for clients such as ABC Family, Disney, HBO, Lions Gate Films, Summit Entertainment, TBS, and 20th Century Fox. During this time, Carlo Paolo also slowly launched WILDNICE, a creative outlet for his inquisitive energy, where he has collaborated across a breadth of capabilities with other artists, musicians and clients. In late 2010, he will be published amongst other illustrators by the We Live Now Project and HOW Books. In the past, one of his most rewarding creative experiences was working with his close friends and family as he directed, produced and art directed a music video for XL Recordings artist Dizzee Rascal.
Carlo Paolo was born in the Philippines on St. Patrick’s Day, where he was exposed early on to storytelling at standing-room only cinemas. He moved to Los Angeles in 1987 and fell madly for 8-bit video games before obsessing over music videos throughout his teens. This eventually led to a BA in Film Production and an MA in Visual Arts at Cal State Northridge.
Carlo Paolo values passion, creativity, curiosity, collaborations and good people. He hopes to travel more, share more of his vast music collection, play more video games, eat great food and make his wife continuously happy.
