RACHEL HERZ ON THE POWER OF SCENT
Dr. Rachel Herz, professor of psychology at Brown University, delighted the ‘nosy’ Fahrenheit 212 team with her presentation about the power of scent on March 12, 2009.
In a spirited discussion, she celebrated the magnificence that is the human olfactory system, debunked aromatherapy and answered the eternal question, “Why does my grandma wear so much perfume?”
Dr. Herz is the author of The Scent of Desire – a fascinating exploration of how scents influence everything from whom we choose as a mate, to how we perceive value, remember and think.
