With the ever increasing value of big data in big business, designers continue to find engaging and beautiful ways to visualize what would otherwise be mundane math. Klarna, a leading online payment company based in Stockholm, recently developed a real-time, dynamic data wall as the main attraction in the lobby of their Stockholm headquarters. Starting with the analysis of a huge data set, looking for potential stories, they developed a narrative that visualizes over 100,000 transactions a day, from different perspectives. The data behind these visualizations is permanently updated, this way, becoming a real-time representation of Klarna’s business activity. The result is a stunningly hypnotizing expression of the activity and attitude of the company.
